Tisha b’Av: a sacred time of despair

The wisdom of the Jewish calendar invites us to experience the full range of human emotions, including mourning and despair. Through ritual, we safely engage in the important elements of loss which, ironically, propels us towards hope. Bring a candle and a way to write. But most of all, bring your whole self to this astounding moment of descent that leads to our ascent towards the Holy Days ahead.
